Editorial – Winter 2025

By Deacon Sal

Pope Francis has defined 2025 as the year of Hope. “Let’s build a world full of hope and kindness.” There are many questions that arise regarding hope. Are we hopeful for what is to come, are we full of hope in our society, hopeful about family matters, are we looking for hope that is on the way, has hope already come, or are you still searching for hope? Whether you found it or are still searching for it, God has the plan already laid out; all we need to do is carry out His mission. Using the wisdom of all our parishioners, we can complete Gods plan.

Kindness abounds from the work that St. Elizabeth Seton parishioners continue to do. From our wonderful St. Vincent de Paul chapter to the newly established 50th Anniversary celebration committee, all kindly share their gifts to promote hope within the parish.

As we begin a new year, I want to thank our wonderful Family Seton staff for this newsletter can only be achieved through their talented writing and editing. We are entering into our fifth year of providing quarterly issues for the St. Elizabeth Seton Community. No matter where you may be, if you are here in Sun City, or traveling away during the summer, The Family Seton is always available online so you can learn what is happening at the parish you love.

In this issue we celebrate Christmas through the eyes of our youngest writer, Luciana Ballesteros. Then, with the promise of a hopeful new year, read about making a New Year’s Resolution with a spiritual twist from our spiritual guide ministry. Learn about Dr. Kathy, the Chairwoman of the 50th Anniversary committee, and step back to reflect on the Prayer vigil for peace. Moving ahead, get prepared for Lent with articles on penance and ashes.

So, find a soft spot, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, and enjoy the articles, pictures and of course Fr. Williams’ video in the Winter issue of, The Family Seton.
