We give thanks to the Holy Trinity for your Priesthood. Through your holy vocation, the grace of the Holy Spirit is poured out upon us. We have been made holy for the glory of God the Father. Every day, you bring us to Jesus Who is truly Present in His Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist.
Christ is always present in His Church, especially in her liturgical celebrations. He is present in the sacrifice of the Mass, not only in the person of His minister, “the same now offering, through the ministry of priests, who formerly offered himself on the cross” but especially under the Eucharistic species. (Paul VI, Sacrosanctum Concilium, §7, 4 Dec 1963)
From the liturgy, therefore, and especially from the Eucharist, as from a font, grace is poured forth upon us; and the sanctification of men in Christ and the glorification of God, to which all other activities of the Church are directed as toward their end, is achieved in the most efficacious possible way. (Sacrosanctum Concilium, §10).
