To have that someone special in your life who is willing to give their unconditional love is a true blessing from God. That is what those special animal creatures that God has brought into our lives are so willing to give. They are just as much a part of who we are as our own blood family is. They become our kindred spirits traveling this worldly earth together.
On the weekend of October 7th, 2023 at 9:30 am, I was privileged to see this love and make some new friends at the pet blessing ceremony. Father David gave a beautiful opening prayer, blessed the Saint Francis medals for the animal kingdom, and threw holy water to bless all the loved ones gathered.
A reading from Genesis and a joyful noise unto the Lord by the choir, made it a perfect morning to be shared with our animal family. As I wandered about making new friends, I had a chance to hear everyone bragging about their loved ones and telling their stories. I suddenly became aware that I was the lucky one to report on this special event. I heard comments from amongst the gathered crowd expressing their appreciation for the special time shared and looking forward to the next chance to gather.
