Editorial – Spring 2024

Deacon Sal Lema, Editor

Easter Alleluias bring the Light of Christ, replacing the short days of winter and fall with long, graceful spring and summer nights. The Family Seton does not bring you April showers but rather the joyful experiences of Eastertide. During these fifty days ahead, enjoy our spring/summer-like temperatures. Find a perfect comfortable spot to hang out. Open up your charged phone and, with a drink by your side, read and reflect on all that happened since our last issue went out.

Last issue, we said farewell to Fr. David Kulandaisamy, who left us after a short stay. In less than two weeks, we welcomed Fr. Williams Abba, our new Parochial Administrator whom we proudly present in this issue.

This year’s walk to Easter’s Alleluia was filled with song and pageantry. But don’t worry If you were out of town or unable to celebrate with us here at St. Elizabeth Seton because our writers were there to capture all the event details. Read about the Chrism Mass held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale. Hear some of the great music that was sung and played at this year’s Lenten Cantata held on Match 17th. The Tenebrae, a somber service as we pause from one time, Lent to another, Easter, was held on March 27th. The church was packed with standing room only as the community came together to behold the cross on Good Friday.

There is so much more in this Spring Issue that it will take more than one sitting to enjoy all that is in it, so take your time and come again. You can also send these articles to friends and family who are on Facebook or Twitter or place a comment below an article to let the author know you care. Look for our next issue this summer with more great stories and, perhaps, a few surprises.

Happy Eastertide!
