Meet Gladyce Janky, New Family Seton Staff Writer

Gladyce Janky, MA has been a chaplain with Creighton University for seven years, ministering to students, faculty, and staff in professional and graduate programs. She joined Creighton after working for almost two years as an on-call chaplain in a trauma hospital and as a hospice bereavement coordinator.

Her professional training includes completing a one-year residency in Clinical Pastoral Education. She holds a master’s degree in ministry through the Creighton Christian Spirituality Program (CSP). Through the CSP program, she has earned certificates in Ignatian Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats and the History of the Ignatian Tradition, including an Ignatian Pilgrimage in 2018.

Gladyce shared, “Throughout my first career in accounting, I was restless to find my life’s purpose. In 2008 I took a class at Creighton that started my journey of falling in love with the Ignatian tradition. I love sharing the richness of the Ignatian Way of Proceeding with anyone drawn to finding God in all things.

Gladyce and her husband, Dave, relocated to Phoenix in 2021 to be closer to family and are looking forward to the birth of their first grandchild in early 2023. They are members of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoys road trips to visit their daughter in Chicago, reading, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with family.
