Welcome to the special fall edition of the Seton Family Newsletter! As the air in Sun City begins to carry the gentle hint of the changing season, we, too, find ourselves in a period of vibrant transition and abundant opportunity here at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish. The beauty of fall reminds us of God’s constant presence and His invitation to new growth in our faith journey.
This past summer has been a testament to the incredible spirit of ministry and volunteerism that thrives within our community, a true reflection of the “City of Volunteers” we call home. As we move forward, we look to build on that momentum, embracing the call to know, love, and serve Christ with renewed enthusiasm.
In this fall edition, you will find:
Updates on our Jubilee Year preparation: We are joyfully preparing for our Jubilee celebration which began with series of presentations and listening sessions under the able leadership of Dr. Kathleen Goeppinger, the installation of first-class relics of St. Elizabeth Seton by Fr. Greg Menagay and a 6 day pilgrimage to Baltimore, Emmitsburg, and Washington, DC to get to visit the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Seton in Emmitsburg and pray at the Basilica of Immaculate Conception Washington and a visit to the John Paul II National Shrine in Washington DC and other spiritual sites. These spiritual activities mark a significant milestone in our parish history and a time to draw closer to one another in God’s love.
Insights into upcoming liturgical seasons: As the “commercial world” pushes Halloween, we in the “Church world” are already looking ahead to the hope-filled seasons of Advent and Christmas, with reflections to help us prepare our hearts.
Recaps of summer events: From the successful Seton Classic Trifecta to the Seton Women’s Society events, we celebrate the moments of fellowship and shared purpose that define our parish life.
Information on ongoing ministries: Discover how you can get involved with groups like the Knights of Columbus, the Legion of Mary, Seton Ladies, Catholic Daughters, and St. Vincent De Paul, or find support through workshops like “Grieving with Great Hope”.
Reflections on scripture and faith: Deepen your understanding of our Catholic faith through insightful articles and links to this week’s bulletins and readings.
Our parish leadership is committed to making data-driven decisions to help our community thrive, which includes gathering feedback through initiatives like the Disciple Maker Index survey. Your input is invaluable as we embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship.
Special thanks to Deacon Sal Lema and our gifted team of writers. They keep us abreast with events happening around our parish, and I am grateful for their sacrifices and hard work.
I encourage you to explore all the rich content within this newsletter. May this season be a time of abundant blessings and closer communion with our loving Father.
In Christ,
Fr. Williams Abba
