Third Annual Seton Classic Trifecta a Great Success!

After six months of preparation, volunteers met in our parish hall on Friday, October 17th to set-up for the following Saturday’s third annual Seton Classic Trifecta. This year’s event differed from that of previous years in that the date was pushed back a month to enjoy cooler weather, and instead of 100 degrees like last year, we had a beautiful day with the high temperature in the low 80s. All proceeds this year would be donated for renovations to our church as we celebrate 50 years of the St. Elizabeth Seton faith community in Sun City.

The event officially began at 8:00 AM following an invocation by Fr. Williams Abba and the playing of the National Anthem by the Sun City Arizona Radio, which also did a live broadcast from the show. The term “Trifecta” means three events occurring simultaneously, and these wonderful parts this year were a huge craft fair, a car show, basket raffle, and food service.

This year’s participants in the craft fair took advantage of the fantastic weather, with some setting up their displays outside. A total of 45 crafters were selling their handmade items for the delight of all attendees.

The car show had close to 100 cars, and they were beautiful examples of a time gone by. These timeless classics were a pleasure to see.

The third part of our Trifecta was food. This year we welcomed Chef Connor Cassidy from Blessed Chef Catering. He provided luscious pancakes stuffed with or without blueberries for a modest price of $8. At 11:00 AM the kitchen shifted from pancakes to cheeseburger and hot dog meals, with the Knights of Columbus working the kitchen.

But we were not finished with only the above three parts! There was more to enjoy including a basket raffle with over 30 baskets to take a chance on and a silent auction for several items including a time-share week in Oceanside, California, which the high bidder won for $1200.

This year’s Trifecta was a grand affair thanks to so many volunteers who supported it, and we are grateful for their service. After all the receipts were tabulated and the money collected, our grand total wasr $10,435.01 A check was presented to Dr. Kathy Goeppinger, chairperson of the St. Elizabeth Seton 50th Anniversary Committee, representing their first donation to the parish’s church renovations.

We look forward to an equally awesome time at the 4th annual Seton Classic Trifecta, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
