The church was packed during this years sacred Triduum. For three days parishioners, neighbors, friends, even the curious assembled. Yet, they didn’t come for the wonderful music and chanting. They didn’t come for the great homilies and words of faith. They didn’t even come for the liturgy rites, with the incense and pageantry, or to wish our leaving pastor Fr. Kilian farewell. They came to honor God, for Our Savior and Lord has risen, Alleluia!
In this issue of The Family Seton, we do our best to honor Our Lord and Savior through our humble offerings. These articles of interest about and for our parishioners, friends and visitors, are written to provide news, notes, and spiritual reflections, as well as interesting and informative topics on faith within our community.
Our theme for this issue is; The Reason for the Season! For the last 40 days we have had the opportunity to attend mass twice each weekday, thanks to an increase in daily masses. We had the occasion to bow down to our Lord at Friday Stations of the Cross. We attended the healing mass with reflections on Fr. Stu, and the highlight of these three days, the joy of the Sacred Triduum. Many of these Lenten devotions are included in this issue with accompanying pictures, so you can re-experience these days again and again.
Continuing with our interviews, we focus on our parish office staff interviewing Business Manager, Joseph Pergolizzi and Administrative Assistant, Sylvia Cabral. And we learn about what singles in our parish do in the Solo Ministry. There is so much more, including our monthly columns from Fr. Kilian, Steve Raml, and the St. Vincent de Paul ministry.
About the time you finish reading this issue, you will also be receiving an exclusive special issue. As Fr. Kilian prepares to move on, we are preparing our tribute to him to say thank you for his six years of service to us, and to say farewell as he moves to his new assignment, Blessed Sacrament in Scottsdale. Look forward to this special issue in June.
